Capital Equipment & Service module — Trade Node
Configured quotations, commissioning, installed base, maintenance contracts and service calls for the machines you sell.
A business that builds plants and machines does not sell from a price list and does not stop earning at dispatch. Capital Equipment & Service follows a unit from the configured quotation and its revisions, through the delivery project and site acceptance that starts the warranty, into an installed base with maintenance contracts, service calls and spares. Coverage is decided by the warranty and the contract in force, so a visit is billed only for what the customer actually owes.
What it does for you
- Quote a machine, not a price list line: Build the quotation from option groups so the price and the lead time come from the configuration the customer asked for.
- Negotiate without losing the history: Each revision is priced on its own frozen options, and the revision it replaces stays on record as superseded rather than being overwritten.
- Run the delivery to a handover: Track build, dispatch, installation, commissioning and acceptance with owners and dates, and record the commissioning checks done at site.
- Start the warranty at acceptance: Site acceptance registers the unit with its serial number, site and shipped configuration, and sets the warranty end date from the day of handover.
- Earn after the sale: Sell maintenance contracts with coverage, period, entitled visits and value, and see what is due for renewal before cover runs out.
- Bill only what is chargeable: A service call shows whether warranty or a contract covers it, records labour and spares against the machine, and invoices only the part outside cover.
What's inside — 6 sub-modules
Buying Capital Equipment & Service switches on these sub-modules in your Trade Node portal:
- Equipment Families & Options: Define the machine families you build and the option groups a customer chooses from — control system, tonnage, feeder, safety package. Each option carries what it adds to the price and to the build time, and each family its standard warranty period.
- Configured Quotations & Revisions: Assemble a quotation from the options selected and get the price and lead time from the configuration itself. Negotiation creates a new revision that keeps its own frozen prices, and the revision it replaces is marked superseded instead of being edited away.
- Delivery, Commissioning & Acceptance: A won quotation opens a delivery with build, dispatch, installation, commissioning and acceptance milestones, each with an owner and dates. Commissioning checks are recorded at site, and handover cannot be signed while any check has failed.
- Installed Base & Warranty: Every unit delivered is registered with its serial number, customer, site and the configuration that shipped. Site acceptance is the day the warranty starts, so the cover end date follows the handover, and machines about to fall out of warranty are visible in advance.
- Maintenance Contracts & Renewals: Create maintenance contracts against an installed unit with coverage scope, period, entitled visits and value. Visits consumed are counted as calls are completed, and contracts approaching their end date are listed for renewal before cover lapses.
- Service Calls, Parts & Billing: Log a breakdown, preventive visit or spares supply against a unit and see immediately whether it is covered by warranty, covered by a live contract or chargeable. Labour and parts are recorded on the call, spares leave stock, and only the chargeable part reaches a GST invoice.
